On the afternoon of June 8, Sichuan Institute of Industrial Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation in higher education with the Ministry of Education of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Sai Kong Sainasin, advisor to the Central Advisory Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and former Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Nupang Wusa, director of the Department of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education of Laos, Hong Po Chan Taung, vice-chancellor of the National University of Lao People's Democratic Republic, Hu Weifeng, inspector of the Provincial Department of Education, Zhao Hui, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Deyang, Yang Zhen, deputy mayor of Deyang, Liao Fei, director of the International Cooperation Department of the Provincial Department of Education, and Yin Yan, director of the Deyang Education Bureau, attended the signing ceremony. The signing ceremony turn to a new chapter after the establishment of academic exchange and talent training cooperation with some institutions in Japan, German and other countries.
Inspector Hu Weifeng dilivered a speech that in recent years, higher education in Sichuan Province has been actively integrated into the 'Belt and Road' construction. The Provincial Department of Education has formulated an action plan to promote the joint construction of the 'Belt and Road' education. This plan aims to cultivate some programs of international education cooperation, encourage social forces to participate in supporting educational exchanges, and actively integrate into the 'Belt and Road' construction. The exchange and cooperation between the two parties has highlighted the development of international exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan higher education.
Zhao Hui, the mayor of Deyang, introduced the basic situation of Deyang City. He said that the Deyang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to the development of education, support universities to establish alliances with schools in countries along the “Belt and Road”. The goernment is now extending many platforms for educational cooperation, strengthening the job of exchange students to guide universities to exert their advantages in international cooperation and exchange high-end talents for further study, and jointly cultivate talents of applied technology and skills. It is hoped that this exchange and cooperation can be used as an opportunity to continuously promote the deep cooperation between Deyang and Laos, and further enhance the mutual understanding and cultural exchange between China and Laos.
The school signed a memorandum of cooperation on higher education with the Ministry of Education of Laos, and plans to invest in the establishment of a comprehensive university in Vientiane, Laos, with the aims to fully promote the cooperation and exchange of higher education between China and Laos. The cooperation makes a step further in the 'Belt and Road' construction of education connectivity between China and Laos and is a realistic choice for schools to train international high-end professionals for the two countries.
