In order to know if new students 2024 were experienced in handling their issues at SCIT and help them adapt to new circumstances better and quicker, on the evening of August 28, SCIT leaders led the heads of the departments and secondary colleges to visit them in the student dormitories.
In the student dormitories, the leaders extended a warm welcome to the students, and had a cordial conversation with them, asking the students questions about the registration process, their study and life plans at college, and their adaptability. The leaders encouraged the students to change their “roles” as soon as possible to adapt to the new environment and live a fulfilling life here.
In the student dormitories, Executive President Liu Changming had a cordial conversation with the new students from the College of Sports and Health, inquiring about their situations, accommodation arrangements and future plans, and hoping that they will quickly adjust their state, study diligently, and live the youthful lives to the full.
Vice President Huang Sixin visited the new students from the College of Constructional Engineering and the College of Economics and Management in the student dormitories. He encouraged the students to integrate into the community as soon as possible, conscientiously acquire professional knowledge, consolidate their professional foundation, make sensible career plans, and actively participate in various academic competitions and social practice activities to become competent and well-trained.
In the student dormitories, Vice President Xiao Xingzheng had a cordial conversation with the new students from the College of Electronic Information and Computer Engineering. He was very concerned about the physical fitness of the students, repeatedly emphasizing that a healthy body is the prerequisite for learning. He urged the new students to do more daily physical exercises and attach importance to the healthy diet to reach the nutritionally balanced state. He also told the students that they should turn to the institute and the teachers for help without hesitation while being in trouble.
Chen Henggui, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, visited the students from the College of Education in the dormitories. He reminded the students to cherish their time in college and actively participate in various arts and sports programs on campus. At the same time, he also mentioned the safety issues, reminding the students to increase the awareness of personal safety and self-protection.
In the dormitories where the students from the College of Intelligent Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering live, Vice President Chen Tang put forward some helpful suggestions, such as how to acquire professional knowledge, how to do academic research and so on, based on his adequate understanding of the thoughts and lives of the students after registration. He encouraged the students to make the most of the library and other on-campus learning resources and study hard with a down-to-earth attitude.
During the visit, the students expressed that they would cherish their time in college, adjust themselves as soon as possible, and embrace the new phase of life with a more positive and enthusiastic attitude. Next, the institute will continue to pay attention to the physical and mental health and actual needs of students, continuously optimizing its management and service to provide a better learning and living environment for students and help them realize personal development and self-value.
