It is once again the time to welcome the freshmen at Sichuan Institute of Industrial Technology (SCIT). At the end of August, the students of Class of 2028 step into the campus, full of anticipation, carrying ideals to explore the unknown. They formally commence with a new journey in life and continue to write their colorful life stories about resiliency and self-discipline. Both teachers and students are full of enthusiasm, and various orientation activities are carried out in order with passion.
“Hello, which college are you admitted in?” “Are you going to the Yanjiang Student Apartment? Please come this way to take the shuttle bus, and we’ll take care of your luggage.” At the orientation spots of each college, volunteers can be seen everywhere, actively participating in activities including maintaining order, guiding people on campus, entering information, etc. That’s really a beautiful sight to behold. The volunteers said that there were many freshmen in this orientation. Although the weather was hot, their enthusiasm to welcome new students was not reduced at all. They were very happy to be able to help the new students. Guo Siqi, a volunteer from the College of Sports and Health, was participating in the orientation volunteer activity for the first time. “I am very excited. I understand how hard the volunteers’ work is and how heavy the responsibility they carry. The spirit of volunteers needs to be passed down from student to student.” She sent a message to the new students, hoping that they will enjoy college life, dare to make mistakes, participate more in volunteer activities, and give back to society to the best of their ability.
The new students were full of expectations and anticipation for the upcoming college life. As a freshman from the School of Education, Li Wan, coming from Suining city, said, “SCIT is very large and beautiful, I hope to continue to make progress and make achievements here.” Xing Shengkang, a freshman from the College of Sports and Health, exclaimed after arriving on campus, “Everything is very fresh. I hope to study hard, to achieve satisfactory results, to gain new friendships, and to become the person I want to be.” Zou Jinghong, a freshman from the College of Architectural Engineering, chatted with his mother about the school, “I am very excited to be here. The school atmosphere is particularly good. Both teachers and students who have been helping me from inside and outside the school are very enthusiastic. Many senior students helped me with my luggage and carefully answered various questions, making me feel the warmth like when I am at home.” When it comes to the expectations for her child, Zou Jinghong’s mother said with a smile, “I hope he can adapt to the college environment as soon as possible, clarify his own goals and direction, and fully enjoy his college life with a healthy body.”
Young generation will always march forward and their new journey has already begun. SCIT hopes that all the freshmen could adhere to their original intentions and passion with confidence and courage.
